Gone are the days where all bar food is greasy and flavorless. Today, the best pub-style restaurants serve modern twists on American cuisine. One such restaurant that you have to visit is Pig Iron Public House, located just a 10-minute drive from The Haven at Cranberry Woods.
Pig Iron is a true Pittsburgh business, taking pride in the city’s history in the steel industry. They source their ingredients locally and serve beers brewed in-state, too. There are a total of 66 beers on tap, so there’s always something new to try, whether you stop in for lunch, dinner, or a late night snack and drink. Pig Nose does take reservations and you’ll want to make one if you plan to visit during the busy weekend dinner hours. The bar area gets a little loud after dark, but that’s all part of the fun.
On the food menu, you’ll find some sharable plates, sandwiches, salads, and larger entrees. For something unique, order the Stuffed Meatball. Made from lamb, beef, and almonds, it’s stuffed with mozzarella and marinara sauce. The Sweet Potato Waffle Fries are drizzled with a maple mustard, and the wings come in an array of flavors like chili lime and honey ginger. If you’re in the mood for a burger, you can’t beat the Foreman Burger, topped with pulled pork, onions, gouda, and apple butter.
Pig Iron Public House is found at 926 Sheraton Drive in Cranberry Township, PA. To learn more about the great places to dine in the area, contact us.
